Flag Football

Sixten Sports leagues follow International Flag League (iFlag) rules with slight modifications to improve gameplay, safety, and league flow. The following rules apply to Sixten Sports 7v7 Screen and 8v8 Coed Screen divisions.

Field Dimensions

Field of Play: 40 yards (goal line to goal line)

End Zones: 10 yards each

Approved Field Width: 35–41 yards

Two 20-yard zones divided by midfield

First Down Line: Midfield

Drives begin at the offense 3-yard line

7v7 Screen - Men’s - Flag Football Rules

7 players on the field. Minimum of 6 players required to start. Defense may rush any number of players. Rushers must start at least 1 yard off the line of scrimmage. Moving screens are allowed. Blockers may move their feet but may not initiate contact. No hands, elbows, or extended legs may be used to impede rushers. Unlimited handoffs and laterals behind the line of scrimmage. Only one forward pass per play. No punting. Turnover on downs begins at the 3-yard line.

Game Clock Two 20-minute halves. Two-minute halftime. Running clock except final two minutes of each half. Two timeouts per team per half. 25-second play clock

Scoring Touchdown: 6 points

PAT: 1 point from the 3-yard line

PAT: 2 points from the 10-yard line

Safety: 2 points

Defensive interception returned on a conversion attempt: 2 points

8v8 Coed Screen Flag Football Rules

8v8 Coed Screen rules are an extension of 7v7 Screen

8 players on the field

Maximum of 5 male players

Minimum of 3 female players

A female must be an operative player once every 3 plays

If three plays occur without a female operative player: 5-yard penalty and loss of down

The next play must involve a female operative player

Female Operative Player (Simple Explanation)

A female must be involved in the play once every three plays.

This means she runs the ball, is the intended receiver, or throws the pass beyond the line of scrimmage.

Snapping the ball or handing the ball off does NOT count.

A hook-and-ladder where a male catches the pass and laterals to a female does NOT count.

Coed Scoring

Male touchdown: 6 points

Female operative touchdown: 9 points

Male PAT: 1 point from 3 yards or 2 points from 10 yards

Female operative PAT: 2 points from 3 yards or 3 points from 10 yards

Defensive interception returned on any conversion attempt: 2 points

  • 5 yards — Dead Ball — Replay Down

False Start

  • 5 yards — Dead Ball — Replay Down

Offsides

  • 5 yards — Dead Ball — Replay Down

Illegal Rush

  • 5 yards — Previous Spot — Loss of Down

Illegal Contact

  • 5 yards — Spot of Foul or Previous Spot — Offense: Loss of Down / Defense: Automatic First Down

Early Flag Pull

  • 5 yards — Previous Spot — Automatic First Down

Holding

  • 5 yards — Spot of Foul — Automatic First Down

Charging

  • 5 yards — Spot of Foul — Loss of Down

Illegal Blocking

  • 5 yards — Spot of Foul or Previous Spot — Loss of Down

During the final two minutes of either half, offensive penalties may result in Loss of Down and defensive penalties may result in an Automatic First Down where applicable.

Sixten Sports Adult Coed 7:3 Slow Pitch Softball League Rulebook (2026)

1. League Structure

  • Eligibility: Players must be 18+ by start of season

  • Roster Limit: Max 20 players per team (all must be registered)

  • Divisions: May be split into upper/lower divisions for competitive balance

Borrowed Players:

  • Allowed in regular season to avoid forfeits

  • Must be from another Sixten Sports team

  • Must be reported to umpire before game

  • Cannot be from opposing team

2. Game Format

  • Game Length: 7 innings or 60-minute time limit

  • No new inning after 50 minutes

Run Rule:

  • 20 runs after 3 innings

  • 15 runs after 4 innings

  • 10 runs after 5 innings

Game Balls:

  • 12" .52 COR / 300 compression

  • Each team provides one new ball

3. Field & Equipment

  • Bases: 65 feet

  • Pitching Distance: 50 feet

  • Home Plate Mat required

  • Double First Base required

  • Commit & Scoring Lines in effect

Bats:

  • Men: Wood bats only

  • Women: USA Softball-approved metal bats

  • Illegal bat = out and ejection

4. Pitching Rules

  • Arc: 6–12 feet (umpire discretion)

  • Underhand motion only

  • No running start

5. Batting & Lineups

  • Count starts 1-1

  • Must alternate genders

  • Male walk with female behind = 2nd base

Home Runs:

  • Men: 1 per inning (additional are outs)

  • Women: Unlimited

6. Base Running

  • No leading or stealing

  • Sliding allowed

  • Standard overthrow rules

7. Minimum Players

  • 8 players (at least 2 women)

  • 10-minute grace period

8. Pace of Play

  • No new inning after 50 minutes

  • 1 minute between innings

9. Conduct

  • No alcohol

  • Fighting = ejection

  • Unsportsmanlike = warning/ejection

10. Forfeits

  • 2 forfeits = removal (no refund)

  • Late forfeits subject to penalty

11. Playoffs

  • Single elimination

  • Tiebreakers: H2H, run diff, runs allowed, coin flip

12. Protests
